It's not the cure. It's the trap.
If you wake up nauseous and a hit is what settles it, that's how this starts. Here's how to tell where you are, and how to get out before it ends in the ER.

Rick Pescatore, DO. Emergency physician. Former chief physician for Delaware's Division of Public Health. I see where this loop ends almost every shift. I'm not here to tell you to quit forever. I'm here so you don't meet me at 3 AM.
Tap everything that sounds like you.
This is a pattern check, not a diagnosis. Nothing you tap leaves this page.
Four moves. The first one is the test.
- 1Take a tolerance breakTwo weeks is the test. If the mornings get better, you have your answer. Full recovery from CHS can take longer than that, so don't call it at day five.
- 2Expect the first days to be roughWithdrawal peaks around days two to six: queasy, irritable, bad sleep. That isn't proof the weed wasn't the problem. It's the part where most people go back.
- 3Favor flower over vapeIn the same survey of 10,255 users, people who used flower more often had lower odds of CHS. More vape oil, edibles and concentrates went with higher odds. If you're not stopping, that's the direction to move.
- 4Say the word to your doctorTell them you use, and how much. It saves you the scans and the stomach-bug guesses, and it gets you the medicines that actually work for this, not just the ones for nausea.
Go to the ER if:
- You can't keep water down for most of a day.
- You're dizzy or faint when you stand, or you've barely peed.
- There's blood in what you throw up, or it looks like coffee grounds.
- You're confused, unsteady on your feet, or your vision is off. After days of vomiting, that can be low vitamin B1. Ask for thiamine by name.
The same plant does opposite things.
That's real, and it's why the first few times feel like the fix. It's the same reason THC has been used for chemo nausea.
With heavy daily use, the system that settled your stomach starts upsetting it. The morning nausea is often the first sign.
So you take a hit to settle the nausea the hits are causing. It works, until one morning it doesn't, and you're in my ER.
It's a coffee headache fixed with more coffee.
The full syndrome is called CHS, cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. Hours of what we call scromiting, screaming and vomiting at the same time, that often needs strong IV medicine to stop. The only thing that ends it for good is time away.
Honest part: the three-times number comes from a survey. It shows that people who use cannabis for nausea are more likely to report CHS. It can't prove the nausea use caused it. It fits what we see in the ER.

- Glodosky, Hammond and colleagues, International Journal of Drug Policy 2026: 10,255 US cannabis users, about 6% reported past-year CHS. Using cannabis to manage nausea or vomiting: logistic coefficient 1.18, about 3.3 times the odds. More frequent flower use: lower odds; more frequent vape oil, edibles and concentrates: higher. If the mornings are already off.
Queasy before breakfast. Dry heaves. Nothing sounds good until noon. If that is your morning, this half of the page is for you, whether or not you're taking the break today.
That pattern runs down one vitamin faster than anything else. Throwing up and not eating burn through B1, and B1 is what your gut and your nerves run on. The body only holds about a month of it. It is why we replace it in the emergency department before almost anything else.
A normal week keeps the store topped up from food.
And always with magnesium. B1 can't do its job without it: the enzyme that switches B1 into its working form runs on magnesium. In one well-known case, a patient losing both stayed sick on high-dose IV B1 until the magnesium was replaced too. Vomiting drains both.
Calm is a daily, not a rescue.
It will not stop a bad morning that is already happening, and it is not a treatment for CHS. It is built for the stretch in between, when intake has been poor and the gut is easy to provoke: B1 and magnesium together, plus ginger. Six actives, every dose on the label, two capsules a day.
One bottle is a month; the protocol is three.
My guarantee: twelve weeks, your first order, up to three bottles. Not helping? One email refunds it, and you keep them.
New customers: $10 off the first order with code 10OFF, applied at checkout. Free shipping. Plans renew automatically; cancel anytime.
For adults whose mornings are off and whose intake has been poor. Not for pregnancy, nursing, or under 18. Ask your prescriber first if you take a blood thinner: turmeric and ginger matter there, and piperine can make some medications act like a larger dose.
Does Calm fix the vomiting?
No. Calm is a dietary supplement. It will not stop an episode, shorten one, or prevent the next. If you are throwing up for days, that is an emergency department visit, not a capsule.
Does this replace a tolerance break?
No. Time away is the only thing that ends CHS. Calm is nutritional support for the mornings, whether or not you're stopping today.
Why B1 with magnesium?
B1 needs magnesium to switch into its working form, and vomiting runs down both. Calm carries benfotiamine, a well-absorbed form of B1, with magnesium glycinate in the same capsule.
I'm throwing up right now. Should I take this?
If you can't keep water down, a capsule won't stay down either. That's an emergency department visit, and you should ask for thiamine there.
How does the guarantee work?
Twelve weeks from delivery. If Calm is not helping, email support@belly-md.com and your first order is refunded, up to three bottles. You keep the bottles. One refund per household.
Take the tolerance break now, or the ER will make you take it later.
