How the gut-brain axis works

Four ideas. One framework.

The biology behind why MGB+ is built the way it is. No jargon, no hype, just the mechanism.

  1. 1
    Step 1

    The pattern is the diagnosis.

Gut-brain conditions show up in clusters. Bloating with brain fog. Reflux with anxiety. Queasy mornings with broken sleep. The current medical framework (Rome V, 2026) treats this whole category as a single named family of conditions, affecting nearly 4 in 10 adults.

  2. 2
    Step 2

    It's a two-way conversation.

Your gut and brain are always talking. Through the vagus nerve. Through hormones. Through the bacteria in your gut. What looks like a stomach problem is often a signal coming from your brain — and vice versa. The right intervention targets the direction the trouble is running.

  3. 3
    Step 3

Every ingredient has a paper trail.

We don't formulate by trend. Every molecule in MGB+ has clinical-trial evidence behind it, at the dose those trials actually used. The list is short on purpose. If an ingredient doesn't have a paper trail, it doesn't make the formula.

  4. 4
    Step 4

Eight to twelve weeks is the real window.

Gut-brain patterns don't shift in 72 hours. They don't shift in a week. Eight to twelve weeks is the realistic window. Track honestly. Give the system time. Then reassess. That's why our guarantee runs 12 weeks.

Three formulas

Three formulas. Three layers.

Each formula targets a different side of the gut-brain axis. Take the 60-second quiz or pick the one that matches your pattern.

The Trio is the full system for people who recognize more than one pattern.

The evidence library

Six ingredients. Six paper trails.

Each ingredient in MGB+ has published clinical evidence behind it. Two in Clear, two in Cool, two in Calm. Every brief is a free PDF.

In MGB+ Clear

Allithiamine

A fat-soluble form of vitamin B1 that actually reaches your nerves. Standard B1 (thiamine HCl) doesn't. Studied for nerve symptoms and mental energy.

Ginger Root Extract 4:1

Concentrated ginger extract, standardized to its active compounds. Established in clinical trials for nausea, slow stomach emptying, and morning queasiness.

PEA (Palmitoylethanolamide)

A molecule your body already makes. Sold in Europe as a medical food for chronic nerve and visceral pain. Active research target for neuroinflammation and central sensitization.

Zinc-carnosine

Zinc bound to a stabilizing protein. Lands in the stomach lining and repairs the protective barrier that acid blockers, alcohol, and stress thin out. Approved as a gastric medicine in Japan since 1994.

Science FAQ

Common questions about the evidence.

Where can I read the studies?

Every ingredient on this page links to a free PDF brief. The briefs cite the specific clinical papers we used to design the doses and combinations. Click any 'Read the brief' link above. Want the full 36-page printed booklet? Email us and we'll send it.

How is this different from other supplements?

Real doses. Every ingredient on the label. Formulas built around the gut-brain pattern, not around ingredients that are trending. Most supplement brands skip at least one of those.

What does third-party tested mean?

An independent laboratory checks every batch for ingredient potency, heavy metals, and contaminants. Not the same lab that makes the supplement. We use US cGMP facilities.

What is Rome V?

The international medical framework for diagnosing gut-brain conditions — IBS, functional dyspepsia, cyclic vomiting, cannabinoid hyperemesis, and others. Updated in 2026. We use it to think about which formula fits which pattern.

What's the 12-week pattern shift guarantee?

Twelve weeks is the realistic window for a gut-brain pattern to shift. If yours hasn't moved by then, email us within 90 days of your first order. We refund it in full — no bottle return required. If you'd rather swap formulas than refund, we'll do that too.
